A prolific artist, Lael Har works in vivid acrylic color in a contemporary impressionistic style. Her work is painterly, juicy, and expressive. Lael is inspired by natural beauty and is influenced by her spiritual upbringing, and her travels to Europe, Israel, India, and South America:

"I am moved by the exploration of beauty: color and light; movement and silence; the tensions of opposites that create harmony.

This is an exploration of the Self and the Grace of transcending all opposites, allowing me an occasional glimpse of Unity.

While painting I ask for guidance. When I surrender to the vision of a landscape, or a figure, it takes hold of my hand and leads me to understand its curves, flow, color, and rhythm. Everything that comes after that is a gift.

Through painting I am ever learning to let go and trust, to get out of the way and allow creative inspiration to do its magic.

This process of discovery is ever deepening. "

Born in Israel, Lael moved with her family to Fairfield, IA. at the age of 10. She grew up in a warm and spiritual Jewish home and was encouraged to follow her own path cultivating creativity and spirituality.

From an early age Lael was making art. As a teenager she taught herself to paint in oils. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Multimedia and moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1999 were she now lives with her husband and daughter.

Lael shares a studio in North Boulder with her good friend and teacher, internationally known artist, Dvora Kanegis. Lael's paintings are exhibited in local shows and galleries. As her work grows stronger it continues to gain recognition and support.
